Ingenting Kollektiva 1

Not too many copies remaining of this record. This release was a Boomkat "something special" and on the Mojo best new LP list. The Vatican mortuary has been known to play this LP whilst performing dissections and vivisections of high-ranking Vatican officials and unfortunate goat herders caught spreading anti-catholique propagandas. If played backwards these recording offers insight into the Les Champ des Étoiles inquiries rumored to have taken place in 1471 around Nuremberg

Ingenting Kollektiva 2

The second IK release, includes a DVD of films by Tarrl Lightowler. These medications on the existence of Lust and Representations of Death in pre-Revolutionary War American home invasions elicited much debate amounts the field-recording enthusiasts and quickly created a new standard for 17th century-inspired birding traditions of Southern Italy, of which the Kollektiva was very proud.

Ingenting Kollektiva 3

The third release from the Kollektiva is a guitar-oriented release of fictitious character modifications made with a Jazzmaster and a Twin Reverberation. These recordings challenged the establishment in ways unclear to the band, yet still remained vital to their growth in general. The Kollektiva largely disbanded after this release due to alcohol and drug abuses whilst touring through Montieren Sie Analog.

Aokigahara, The Black Sea of Trees

Abstract visual and sonic suicides spread through with ephemera, photographs, letters and instruments left behind by the untouched forest people. The entire Asphodel is embodied with the vicarious memories related to musical abstraction; the experience of light moving in time, and oblivion distilled into pure sensation. Recordings made in Turkey.

Keith Berry, Elixir,  cures all ailments

Simulacra-infraction, gathers and gatherings of sound moments progressively taking place over a period of time. The material originally traversed through Berry's editing system like an alchemist's mystery-liquid, distilling through his alembic and becoming a final sonic spirit that takes innumerable forms and can no longer be recognized. This process is so beyond words and creates work that is further beyond words; the listener enters a Complete Void.

Matthew Swiezynski, the one who modifies Time and Light

A post Ingenting album from Mr. Swiezynski. The recordings are highly memory-annihilated mediations on further reworkings of memory-truncated musics which began with slow-duplication processes of glitching errors turning to once-had-forgotten dreams augmented and purified in the tradition of chance procedures.

gaspard de la nuit

(Invisible Birds Archive of Nothing - Soundtracks, volume one)

Music by Tarrl Morley and Matthew Swiezynski. Recorded in San Francisco in 1998 using a 78 rpm recording of Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit (interpreted by Walter Gieseking), a reel to reel deck, and restraining techniques. The music was also used as a soundtrack to Mr. Swiezynski’s 16mm film Juliette from the same year.

Why the ensemble did not try and get the music published that year is a mystery but Invisible Birds is very proud to be issuing it now, as it resonates so very strongly with the label's vision.

a quandary in the year of our lord, 2015 (kickstarter campaign is live)

5 reasons we are excited about our new kickstarter campaign, and why others should look at (and support) the said campaign :

1. we are very proud to be reissuing on LP a cdr that has been an huge inspiration the last few years; asphodel’s aokigahara, the black sea of trees. it is one hell of a release, and to put it on wax with newly inspired graphics and photography is an exciting moment in the history of the label.

2. to be finally issuing the new record by ingenting kollektiva : an anatomy of melancholy. this record was commissioned back in 2010 by a UK LP label that sadly never got off the ground. over the last 5 years the kollektiva has added and subtracted much material, mostly concentrating on it in 2014. the music is a very different experience than the previous two releases.

3. to be working with the 2 very exciting and under appreciated visual artists, tarrl lightowler and zacharias kether. mr. lightowler did the album art for the asphodel release and mr. kether did the album art for ingenting. also, mr. kether has agreed to do an edition of 10 drawings for the release, normally in a gallery these would sell for a not so small amount, but because of his enthusiasm for the label, mr. kether has agreed to sell them for much less so we can get our records into existence.

4. the label has been around since 2008 and getting the money to put out releases has been daunting, and frankly, not very interesting. we decided we were either going to close the doors or go for broke and issue 2 high-end releases where we spared no expense. we are very confident that these un-fledged birds will learn to fly!

5. we commissioned the foremost erich zann scholar from poland; wtameht wszyienski, to do our voice over in the kickstarter video. a year ago when we mentioned on this blog being inspired by erich zann; and especially his relation to memory and music's memory of music, we received a letter in the mail from mr. wszyienski, saying he was in full support of our cause and would do whatever needed. still have yet to read his scholarship, as it is in a language we cannot read, yet there is a deep appreciation for his spirit, which is always present with him, in each correspondence. it was a dream come true to finally hear his voice, and we are very happy to have him on board.
one thing he mentioned to us is in a letter : "these years of being able to access memory with little effort; it is fine. i find in zann a period where memory is something you try your entire life to access, and when you finally locate it; you find you have been dreaming.... these are the memories i am interested in, and that you seem to be my friend of non existent memories!"

asphodel - aokigahara, the black sea of trees

aokigahara, the black sea of trees is an abstract story-telling which takes place in a forest located in mount fuji, japan. the forest of aokigahara, has a world-wide fame for the thousands of suicides which took place there and now has an almost mythological statue.

the forest is spread all through with ephemera and items such as photographs, letters and instruments left behind by the leavers, all untouched due to respect. almost the entire forest is covered with long ribbons people used to be able to return if they changed their mind. therefore, the entire land is embodied with the vicarious objects that depict the sense of memory, loss and hope.

the sense of an intrinsic lament and stepping into the oblivion gets distilled in to sensation of belonging to life and hope. the emphasis is the romantic and contextual countenance of life relived through the forest.
