Oh no way! I have been watching Season 2 and am in the process of preparing a post of screen caps, several of which (the Bob/Leeland/Maddy scene) you've included here! "Intuition" as Cooper would say; I'd say spooky. Stay tuned for the series on my site, I think it'll be almost 40 caps, but none so lovingly abstract as these!

great, can't wait to see the post. there is some amazing business in these discs, i still think, the episodes he directed are the best work he ever did.
in my dream world, he did all of them.

love these. have you capped or considered capping inland empire?

thanks, i had the intention of doing inland empire, but somehow didn't end up doing it. partly, the film makes it hard because much of it is so ugly (from the lowgrade video), but then much is so beautiful (like the spinning record). i have mixed feelings on the visuals of the film, even though it is one of his best films. i kind of wish he had shot it with a better camera.

i watched it under the influence before i was about to fall asleep and was more or less amazed at the nightmare visuals which kick in about 45 minutes in. i agree that the lowgrade video doesn't work all that well in some cases, but i think in others it pushes the film to a whole new level of brilliance. which i guess is kinda what you're saying. what is your favorite lynch film?

i agree it is brilliant, and esp. under the influence always adds to the oddity of his work.
my favourites are inland empire, twin peaks tv (the ones he directed), mulholland drive is great, elephant man, eraserhead, blue velvet. he is pretty amazing i think. the more i watch them, the more i love them.
